Dear Parents,
 
West Fest is fast approaching.  This is the Maine West Athletic Boosters biggest fundraiser for the year.  As you know all money raised by the Maine West Athletic Boosters goes directly back to ALL the athletes here at Maine West.  It takes over 300 volunteers to run West Fest.  The Boosters cannot do this without your support.  They are in need for parent volunteers for West Fest Security and Ticket Booth sales. 
 
Below please find the link for the General West Fest sign up. You can also find the link on the Maine West Athletic Booster webpage and Facebook page.  The link will also be available on the Maine West homepage.  Please take a moment and volunteer. 
 
 
 
Also attached below is the 2017/2018 Maine West Athletic Booster membership form.  You can get a jump on purchasing your registration for next year.  (Those VIP memberships go fast)  Please consider purchasing a Maine West Athletic Booster membership.  Your membership fee goes to the support of all athletes.  In addition, by joining the Athletic Boosters you will receive a membership card that will get you into all regular season athletic events at Maine West.  If you would like to join the Athletic Boosters Club please complete the registration and mail to the address listed on the form. You will then receive your Booster Card.

Swim for a Cure

Dear Maine West Swimming and Diving Family-
On Saturday, October 1st Maine West Swimming and Diving will be hosting our 8th annual Swim for a Cure Invitational.  We have 6 teams participating this year with over 125 athletes and over 300 fans. The purpose of this meet is three fold, to offer a competitive meet for our athletes, increase awareness of Breast Cancer, and to raise money for the American Cancer Society. Over the past 8 years we have raised over $15,000 for the foundation. While the meet is a varsity meet, the meet can’t be successful without the help of all swimmers, divers and their families. There are many ways you can help. First and foremost we ask that all athletes attend the meet and help out. We will not have practice on this day so we ask that all athletes attend the meet instead. For parents who want to get involved with this event we ask 2 things- We are looking for 15-20 parents to help out for 2-2.5 hours on the day of the meet. Attached to this letter you will find a signup sheet. Please have your daughter return this to a coach by Monday Sept. 26th.We are also asking for each athlete to donate food items for our concession stand. We would like to ask the following- Freshman – Drinks-a 12 pack of pop, a case of water, Gatorade, etc. Sophomores-  a healthy snack-individually packaged granola bars, Fruit bars, etc, Juniors- Individual small bags of chips, pretzels, etc , Seniors-Something sweet like individually wrapped cookies, deserts, candy, etc. Our concession stand is our only team fundraiser of the year and helps to offset the cost of equipment, team gear, etc. Please have all food donations to the pool by Thursday the 29th of September. This is a great meet for a really great cause. We will also be selling T-shirts and doing  a 50/50 raffle. If you have not had a chance to see this meet in person we would like to invite you to wear as much PINK as possible and come out to our pool to support our athletes and help to raise awareness of breast cancer.
